We love this new article by Wall Street Journal, where 20 design professionals pick their top emerging interior trends for 2015.
What’s in for 2015 (clockwise from top left): graphic tiles, moody indigo, mixed metals, smoky glass and painterly rugs |
Based on their predictions, there’s no doubt 2015 will be full of strong statements and bold colours, with graphic tiles (top left) and moody indigo (top middle) predicted to feature strongly in the coming year.
London designer Kelly Hoppen predicts mixed metals (top right) will be popular, as perfectly matching all metals in a room can look overdone and too staged.
Smoky glass (bottom right) will be a mysterious and enigmatic new material incorporated into interiors, and our personal favourite, painterly rugs (bottom left) are true art pieces, showcasing multifaceted colour and shimmer for top wow factor.
And what’s on the way out? It seems chevron print and using text as decor have had their day and will be left behind in 2014…
Onwards and upwards! We can’t wait for an exciting year of design!
