The SBID International Design Awards are one of the most prestigious recognitions of design excellence in the interior design industry, and Arthouse are thrilled to have not one but two of our fabulous clients through to the shortlist this year!
First up is the stunning and very unique Spartito material from SoFarSoNear. A culmination of various creative sources, this material is made from copper thread, based on music written by Daniele Lombardi, and was designed for SoFarSoNear by r+s architects.

As with the other designs in the Cuprum range, Spartito comes from a constant search for unique and unusual materials. Spartito is a veritable copper fabric that combines the mass and shine of metal leaf with the softness of a textile. Flame retardant and highly resistant, Spartito is the ideal fabric for hospitality, and has been used to cover the acoustic panels at the luxury 5*Hotel Carlton Baglioni in Milan.
Secondly, our client Clayworks have rightly made their way through to the shortlist too. This tops a fantastic year for this Cornwall-based clay company, who have seen an 80% year on year increase in business and have had their clay products shipped all over the world for projects in India, Malaysia, Japan and Australia, to name but a few.
As their range of natural clays can literally be moulded to create all types of inspiring designs, themes and branding, they have been particularly heralded by businesses, including well-known names such as Nandos, Oroton, Paul Smith and Wahaca. They have also launched a unique range of 27 pigmentations.
The public are now invited to cast their votes for their favourite entries at www.sbidawards.com, as their votes will be counted towards the overall results.
With a 15% increase in entries from over 30 countries across the globe, winning won’t be easy – but we wish them both the best of luck from Arthouse!
